Robert Gene Carmine (September 7, 1931 - May 11, 2016).

ROCK SPRINGS — Robert Gene Carmine, 84, of Rock Springs, Wyoming, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born September 7, 1931, in Alliance, Nebraska, the son of Park Carmine and Lena Aimonetto.

Mr. Carmine attended school in Newcastle, Wyoming and was a graduate of the Newcastle High School with the class of 1948.  He earned a Bachelors Degree in Education as well as a Masters Degree in Business from the University of Wyoming.

He married Mary E. Carr in Newcastle, Wyoming on July 4, 1951, while he was home on leave from the Navy. They were married in the Catholic Church in Newcastle, Wyoming and she preceded him in death on September 6, 2011.

Mr. Carmine was a United States Navy Veteran during the Korean Conflict.

He was a teacher for twenty-seven years at the Sweetwater County School District Number one and retired in May of 1991, and was a resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming since 1964 and former resident of Newcastle, Wyoming.

Mr. Carmines interests include hunting, fishing, and anything to do with the great outdoors, spending time with his family and friends as well as taking his dog to the dog park.

Survivors include two sons, Rick Carmine of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Robbie Carmine and wife Gail of Rock Springs, Wyoming,; three daughters, Cindy Petersen and husband Vance of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Candy Bedard and husband Mark of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Claudette Harris and husband Jack from San Diego, California; ten grandchildren,Robbie J., Ryan and Christopher Carmine of Rock Springs, Wyoming: Rob Petersen of Oregon; Taryn Petersen of Idaho; Zachary Parker Harris of California; Kayla Carmine of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Chantel Carmine of Oklahoma; Lexi and Alyssa Bedard of Rock Springs, Wyoming; several great-grandchildren and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son Randy Carmine.

A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 116 Broadway, Rock Springs, Wyoming.  A vigil service with rosary will be recited at 5:00 P.M.  Monday, May 16, 2016, at the church.  Friends may call on Monday at the church from 4:00 P.M. until time of rosary and on Tuesday morning, one hour before services.
