UPDATE —  No injuries were reported in a train derailment Monday night west of Green River.

Union Pacific Director of Corporate Relations and Media in the area Calli Hite said the was traveling westbound when it derailed at approximately 6 p.m. near Milepost 83 along Interstate 80. The train was heading from Chicago to Las Angeles. It was not carrying hazardous materials.

Hite said crews were heading to scene to investigate the cause of the accident and to start cleanup.

SWEETWATER COUNTY — Reports indicate a derailment has occurred near mile marker 83.
